Some agencies launch with a party. Others with a boring press release. At Jane we decided to tell the world we were here by creating an unfeasibly large tote bag. Made in collaboration with cult fashion label Chip Chop, the XXXL bag measured a whopping 2.4 meters high and also doubled as a sleeping bag for large people and conjoined triplets. But most importantly it was a demonstration that not all ideas are ads.
As a product the XXXL bag was a massive failure with only one sale to some guy in Germany. But as a piece of self promotion we like to think it worked as we received lots of word of mouse on sites such The Design Files and various magazines around the world. And we are still in business so it must have worked, right?
