Not only does she have the best surname in the world, Jane Ni Dhulchaointigh is the founder of one our favourite companies in the world: Sugru. If you haven’t heard of it, Sugru is a mouldable glue that sticks to almost anything and dries to a rubbery finish. Phone holder, tap fixer, camera protector, chicken foot prosthetic (true story), it’s pretty much a life-hacker’s dream.

It all began back in 2003, when Jane was working on a master’s degree in product design at the Royal College of Art in London. Disenchanted with the idea of designing new things instead of repairing what’s broken, she started fooling around with a moldable mixture of silicone and fine sawdust. Jane says, “I wanted to design something that was so easy and so fun to use that more people would consider fixing things again”. 5,000 experiments, 8,000 lab hours and few grants later, Sugru was born and today is sold in 172 countries and millions of people around the world.
